  1. Hi Kath and Sal: Really enjoyed the commentary, the pictures and your unbelievable artwork, Sal, as you all (including Cody and Maddie) continue your trek through beautiful New England. In the spirit of your comment about the Kennedys choosing the site they did for their compound, when Monika and I and Nance and Roland cruised from New York to Canada and enjoyed a tour of Newport, RI which included seeing the vacation homes of the Rockefellers, etc, we agreed that those rich folks knew a great location when they saw one! We agree with you about the cleanliness and the infrastructure of New England in general compared to California. In fact, just this past week, there was an article in the LA Times about why so many folks are leaving the state. Among other reasons (housing prices for one) were the high taxes levied in the state, the sad state of the infrastructure, the political situation, the congestion on the roads and so forth. In response to the article, a subscriber wrote in and indicated he was moving his family out of the state. The tipping point for him was seeing a sign posted on a major road advising “Bad Road.” He assumed that was in lieu of fixing the road despite the increase in fuel costs and auto registrations that are allegedly supposed to fund repair of the the roads, etc in the state. There are consequences for having a super majority in the legislature in Sacramento! How cool was that for you to tour Brown University. Can’t wait to visit you blog about the Big Apple! Safe journey and love to all.

    • Love your comments and always look forward to your “take” on places we’ve been. We’ve had such an amazing array of experiences AND I am becoming aware of wanting to head home soon. Being on the road this long has its own challenges as does traveling with dogs (especially a 16 y o one!). Driving an RV in big cities is not for sissies! Love you guys!
