  1. Hi Kath and Sally: We have finally been able to access your blog and have been enjoying Sal’s superb artwork along with her most interesting narratives which have provided us with a great sense of where you have been and what you have been encountering and enjoying along the way. We have similarly enjoyed the pictures of all of the sights you have seen in your travels. Loved the map showing how much territory you have covered since leaving on your adventure. Really is neat how gracious people are when you are in need of assistance (the fuel pump mix up) or how welcoming they are to out of state visitors and anxious to show you the sites (folks who took you on a back woods tour to see moose). It has always amazed us how the west and east coast folks simply dismiss the mid west at the “middle’ or “flyover country.” It is a beautiful part of the country, and the folks are solid. So glad, Sal, you and Kath enjoyed seeing where you grew up in Wisconsin, and that you were able to touch base with members of your “clan.” Likewise, Kath great that you were able to touch base with Barb and Bob and Marie and Joe. See Bob is wearing his GB Packers shirt! BTW, belated Happy Birthday to Cody. Loved that pic! Enjoyed your commentary on your travels in Canada. Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa are beautiful – so glad they are protective of the old architecture, etc We can imagine the “earful” you get about the political happenings south of the border. Guess Trudeau’s black and brown face issues pale in comparison to Trump’s Ukraine problems!

Well, we can now look forward to your posts now that we have access to same. Safe travels knowing that our thoughts are with you. Love, Monika and Lar

    • Thank you for your very thoughtful and encouraging commentary on our blog. Sometimes it almost feels like a job keeping this thing up to date after traveling all day! Thank you for following us on this 2nd journey. It is a real adventure with language and custom differences, weather challenges and other issues that call on us to roll with the punches. Hopefully it will keep us young in spirit, if not in body! We look forward to spending time together with you when we return. Come see us in our new condo in SD! Love, Sally
